2017 was a gamechanger....2018 is going to be lit...Yvonne Burton's year end review

2017 flew by like a bullet. 2018 is already looking ahead to be a wild ride. It's December 31 and the people of Iran are in the streets protesting their tyrannical rulers. Thank goodness we have a president who will side with the people of Iran and not the mullahs....It truly is a brave new world.

I started out years ago with my other blog MidsouthSentinel.com with the goal of encouraging more active local participation in government/politics ...see Keeping Up With The Kouncilmen and Keeping Up With The Kommissioners meetings. While those posts were a hit, people still weren't participating and I became discouraged and lax about reporting on them especially when it was always the same 2 or 3 citizens showing up to the meetings. You could say I lost my way. I wasn't sure anymore why I was doing it so I became more of a consumer of news rather than a generator of news.

Then sometime in 2016, after discovering the national treasure that is Mike Cernovich, I became inspired to do more than just consume. I'm still on this journey trying to figure out my place in this new world of media and the New Right. I want to be leader and help other like minded people find their way in this world. For too long we have waited for others to be the trailblazers or others to tell us what to do. It's time to take the reins yourself. The media and other status quo elites are not going to change anything. We are. Isn't that the legacy Andrew Breitbart left for us all?

Winding down this year I want to take some time to point out those who have had the most influence on me and what I have done with their inspiration and to point out some goals I have for the New Year.

I have for most of my life underestimated the talents God gave me. I'm not going to go into the whys of these insecurities but I had/have them. Being married to a wonderful man helped me grow out of a lot of them but I didn't really see how deep those insecurities were until I read Mike Cernovich's Gorilla Mindset (specifically the chapter on self talk) which is a must read.

  • I have for a long time wanted to become a leader in changing our country for the better but not really knowing how or what to do and being an introvert has its drawbacks for a goal like this. Discovering Mike Cernovich on Twitter and seeing how successful he is at just about everything he does while also being an introvert has inspired me to do better. I'm still a work in progress. I had 3k followers on twitter and was around 73k impressions per month. Now I am at over 7k followers with a minimum of 1 million impressions per month. I credit him for helping learn better how to use twitter. If you aren't following Mike then my only question is why not?
  • Jack Posobiec is a force to be reckoned with and a most happy warrior. He has inspired me to fight with a smile on my face. His twitter feed is a gem. Light-hearted and funny, but very potent as you can tell by the hits from MSM to discredit him along with Mike. I chuckle when ever they describe them as far right wing trolls....the MSM wishes they were just trolls. Anwyays, Jack's book Citizens 4 Trump was a great read on how the 2016 election went down and he is a great representative for the New Right. A happy warrior that can be very underestimated because he is so nice.
  • Ali Alexander is a diamond in the rough. He has inspired me to do more, read more, reach for more. His periscopes are priceless knowledge covering many topics. God blessed him with a gift of communication that is obvious. Ali is so unique in this world I don't think my words here do him justice. Follow him on twitter and catch up with his periscopes. They are better than anything on tv.
  • Dr. Jane Ruby just published A Sea of New Media. I have a feeling Andrew Breitbart would have been proud. His legacy of the citizen journalist is being played out by all of the above. I have spoken with Dr. Jane on Skype and she is just as kind and inspirational as she is on her periscopes. She is a leader in this movement that I look up to and has motivated me to become a leader too. She has a great show on Cernovich Media called Dr. Jane's D.C. which you should all check out.

There are MANY others who have inspired me like Laura Loomer, Stefan Molyneux, Scott Adams, Paul Joseph Watson, Jordan Peterson, and many more. I love that social media has allowed minds that think alike to have a direct connection and to interact in ways people have never been able to before. The end result of that is going to be something very very good.

My year in review is not long. Next year's though will be much longer.

I started a new blog yvonneburton.net with the goal of being not just a site for current news but also what you could do with that information you learn about. The big difference between the old right and the new right is we talk, we write but more importantly ....we do. I watched in real time how Ali got Paul Ryan to disavow Antifa using the exact wording Ali had requested we use when calling them....left wing thugs. I say Ali but Ali couldn't have accomplished that without us.

We also got the president to take chain migration off the table for any DACA deal. That was another campaign led by Ali that a lot of us participated in. People don't realize the power they have and I want to change that. I also want to help the New Right stay on course and that means quickly quashing those on our side who will only discredit our side faster than any enemy could. My post on Paul Nehlen was to help people understand that there are going to be infiltrators and fakers and to always be on the look out. I must admit the Joy Villa story was discouraging too but I would like to see our side be a little bit more savvy about how we handle these situations. Joy Villa is not who we thought she was but we don't have to go after her guns ablazing and in such an attack mode that makes those attacking her look bad. She's not right for the movement, acknowledge that, call it out and move on. The level of vitriol coming from our side for her is not productive and I hope I can help encourage a more unifying team of people who get the fact that while we have to be discerning, we don't have to be attack dogs looking for prey.

Not everything that can be said should be said. Not everything that you know should be known by everyone. Just because you can tweet something, doesn't mean you should tweet it. The left is better at fighting these political battles and I hope to educate and lead others on how to become warriors. I have a lot of knowledge to share about how to come up with strategy to win battles that will bring us closer to winning this war. Politics is a game albeit a very serious one. There are a lot of people who know what's wrong but they don't understand politics is like football. You don't just wake up one day and walk out on the field and start playing. There's a lot to learn about strategy that I think I can help with. Right now, the lack of knowledge about how to play this game is being used against us. I am going to help change that.

My biggest accomplishment this year was hitting the go live button on periscope. I have done 11 periscopes and if you understood how hard that was for me to do you could appreciate it. I am one of those people who would choose death over public speaking (mostly not true) and periscope to me is intimidating like public speaking is. I will be doing more periscopes and hoping to grow my audience with the goal of encouraging others to do more, make phone calls, write emails, and support those people out here who are doing great work.

In the coming year I hope more you will put your money where your mouth is support those on the right who are trying fill the vacuum the partisan media has created. If someone you like and follow has a patreon, support them with your dollars. The left seems to have an infinite amount of money for activism, the right does not so give them what you can. They are doing the Lord's work.

I will leave with you a video from Andrew Breitbart who led the way to fighting the media and winning the culture wars...he was ahead of his time, may he RIP, and may his legacy live on in us...alive and kicking ...and winning!

"All of those who have gone against the main stream media and said you are gonna call us racist, you are gonna call us potential Timothy McVeigh's ???.....F%&K YOU! ......WAR!

We are the ones we've been waiting for. Want to Make America Great Again then join me in prayer on this journey.

Psalm 19:3-4 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone forth through all the earth, and their words into the ends of the world: in them hath he set a tabernacle for the Sun.
